I went to the Shinjuku branch office of the Tokyo Legal Affairs Bureau near Okubo Station to file the registration. They said the expected completion date is July 10. I’d estimated 1-2 weeks, so it’s longer than I anticipated, but it can’t be helped. Apparently it’s not unusual for cases to take more than a month these days. Hmm.

If there’s anything wrong with the documents I submitted, they’ll call me; if there’s no problem, I won’t hear anything. To check whether it’s done, I either have to inquire each time, or check the National Tax Agency’s corporate number publication site, which gets synced and registered. https://www.houjin-bangou.nta.go.jp/
